The Role Profile:
Reporting to the Head of Assessment and credentialing, the Assessment Officer will work with the team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality credentialing assessments. The post holder will be responsible for delivering assessments and associated administration, maintaining the website, and servicing committees along with providing high quality administrative support with the everyday running of the wider team including supporting project work and managing the departmental mailbox. This role is suitable for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who enjoys working as part of a busy and friendly team. Given the nature of the role, it will require monthly in-person attendance at the London office.
Main Accountabilities:
Assessment operations:
Deliver end-to-end credentialing assessments, including scheduling, finance processing, and producing and releasing accurate candidate outcomes within agreed timelines.
Process applications for Accreditation of Prior Learning (APCL) in line with standard operating procedures.
Prepare documentation for appeals, misconducts and complaints in line with relevant procedures.
Support proofreading and review of assessment documentation, including curricula, assessment guidance and regulations.
Assessor & stakeholder management:
Onboard new assessors, including processing contracts via a digital contract management platform and maintaining an up-to-date assessor database (including training status).
Communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior members of the profession.
Co-ordinate the Consultant Post review process in collaboration with the Chair and within agreed timeframes.
Governance, committees & meetings:
Schedule and service departmental committees, including accurate minute taking.
Organise and attend task and finish group meetings, taking internal notes as required.
Support with the co-ordination of departmental meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
Data, reporting & systems:
Enter, check and analyse data, producing reports for different stakeholders.
Maintain departmental content and documentation on the RPS website.
Co-ordinate and support survey development using Microsoft Forms for external stakeholders.
Manage departmental mailboxes, escalating queries appropriately and enabling timely responses.
Provide project support to the Head of Assessment & Credentialing with projects relating to data management, reporting and implementation of new systems.
Quality, compliance & continuous improvement:
Update and create departmental standard operating procedures relevant to the role and support the wider team in their use.
Maintain accurate equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) data for candidates and assessors in secure internal systems.
Adhere to the highest standards of data protection and security, working within GDPR and confidentiality policies.
Team support:
Provide project support to the wider team as required.
Undertake other appropriate duties to support effective service delivery and contribute to the directorate’s business plan, as directed by the line manager.

Data inputting, checking and reporting for stakeholders is accurate and timely.

SOPs, assessor training materials, agreements and contracts are up to date and stored in line with internal audit requirements.
Assessor & systems management
Assessor contracts and training status are accurate and up to date.
Website pages and related content (including PDF attachments) are kept current and accurate.
Meetings, panels & operational effectiveness
Departmental meetings, assessment panels and committee meetings are proactively managed and well co-ordinated, organised and efficient.
Team & project support
Members of the department and departmental projects are well supported, contributing to the successful delivery of business plan objectives.

Experience:
Previous administrative experience in a busy environment
Experience of updating Web pages and documents held within
Experience of delivering complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders
Experience of utilising and evaluating standard operating procedures to support operational processes
Experience of coordinating and scheduling meetings with senior stakeholders
Experience of producing basic reports for internal and external stakeholders
Experience of manipulating data and creating reports for internal and external stakeholders
Desirable:
Previous administrative experience in a higher education or membership body
Knowledge/experience of delivering qualifications, assessment and/or examinations
Experience of using digital contract platforms
Experience of working with assessors, assessment boards and/or committees
Experience of ensuring assessments are delivered to a high quality, in line with stated timelines and standard operating procedures
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the production of basic meeting notes and minutes
Extensive experience of Microsoft Office, Excel in particular.
Knowledge of Postgraduate medical assessments
Training in web site page maintenance and updating
Ability to work methodically and accurately when under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail
Adaptable and able to use initiative and prioritise effectively
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
