Our governance and leadership
Our Trustee board and Senate provide overall governance and strategic direction for the College. Our three National Pharmacy Boards provide advocacy, support and strategic leadership for pharmacy practice and developments within England, Scotland and Wales. The Pharmaceutical Press (PhP) Board advises the Assembly on the direction and approach of Publishing, while our Executive Team look after every aspect of our operations.

The Role Profile
The People Partner is an important part of the business, providing efficient, effective and innovative people solutions and services. Sitting within the Shared Services team and supporting across the organisation, this role will provide support to both the Royal College and our wholly owned subsidiary Pharmaceutical Press Limited (PhP) as directed by the Head of People Partnering and working with the wider people team as appropriate.
Specific Accountabilities
Business Partnering:
Partner with the business to develop and implement people aspects of business plans/ objectives as directed by the Head of People Partnering.
Provide people advice, challenge and guidance to senior management and line managers throughout the colleague lifecycle (including workforce planning, recruitment, talent management, performance management, change etc)
Triage key people issues as they arise and ensure they are dealt with, seeking support and advice from the relevant person in the People/ legal team.
Supporting and coaching colleagues and line managers as needed.
Develop trusted relationships through integrity and authenticity to key stakeholders.
Mentors and guide more junior members of the people team and less experienced line managers
Talent Acquisition
Manage recruitment activity as required, working closely with the Head of People Partnering and people team colleagues.
Support managers with shortlisting, arranging and conducting interviews, drafting of employment documentation where required
Talent Mobility
Conduct talent gap analyses to identify current and future skills needs across the organisation when required.
Work with the Director of Shared Services and Head of People Partnering to develop and implement succession plans for key leadership positions.
Support workforce planning initiatives, ensuring we have the right talent in the right roles at the right time.
Implement mentoring and coaching programs to foster knowledge transfer and accelerate skill development within the organisation.
Develop and deliver management induction and development programmes across the organisation.
Colleague Engagement
Work with the Head of People Partnering to drive key strategic metrics such as, engagement and EDI
Support the implementation of a new employee engagement survey solution for PhP.
Heatmap the colleague experience across the colleague life cycle and prioritising interventions
Oversee the creation and reporting of colleague surveys, including engagement, culture and purpose etc.
Support with internal communication and engagement (all employee days, all hands meetings etc)
People Operations
Support on payroll and pension inputs and actions.
Contribute to team discussions and planning and delivery
Track people metrics, making suggestions for improvement and ensuring compliance with ISO requirements where required
Deliver in line with the shared services SLA

Success Measures
Effective delivery of people support, and guidance to teams and managers within the Organisation taking ownership of employee relations cases and seeing through to completion.
Supporting the effective delivery of the people aspects of shared services, i.e., supporting the people operations, wider business projects, covering holidays etc and ensuring smooth flow of work within the people team.
Working with the Head of People Partnering and wider people team to develop and deliver people strategy
HR and budgetary processes are monitored and managed effectively.
Knowledge & Skills for this job
Proven experience as a people partner with a successful track record in complex, fast-paced organisations undergoing period of change.
CIPD qualified/ QBE
Significant commercial ER experience and knowledge, ideally with some experience of navigating the people impacts of change (TUPE, contracts, culture, change management etc)
An ability to create people plans and actions, seeking support and guidance from people colleagues/ others as appropriate.
Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the capability to influence at all levels.
Change orientation; always looking to drive improvements and enhancements to our people services, systems and processes.
